Texter och skrivande i en internationaliserad affärsvärld flerspråkig textproduktion vid ett svenskt storföretag

The purpose of this thesis is to study the multilingual text production of an international Swedish company. The investigation covers a survey of the writing processes in the company as well as an analysis of texts produced in different languages. The main hypothesis of the thesis is that the multilingual text production of a large company entails a parallel writing process and a new model for multilingual writing is introduced and tested on an authentic text material. The aim of the parallel writing model is to depict the multilingual text production processes found in international companies. This model sketches a writing process with a relatively free relationship between the source, the raw material, and the end texts. The investigation has included interviews, observations, and questionnaires in relation to three text groups: annual reports, staff magazines, and texts regarding a product. A close text analysis has been carried out on the staff magazines and product texts, comprising analyses of textual theme, rhetorical structure, style, and pictures.
