Chris's life is worth nothing. His mother yells at him for being inconsiderate and his teachers think he is a failure. He doesn't really have any friends, and when he meets a girl he really likes, she refuses to go out with him. So when Chris finds a wallet with cash, credit cards and other identification papers, he thinks he has found a way to escape.
