David Lega was born in 1973 with all the odds
against him. He was paralysed and, according to the
doctors, he would never even be able to sit without
help. Twenty-two years later, he took his first world
swimming record. During his career as a disabled
swimmer, David took a total of 14 world records and
won three World Championship Gold Medals. He
retired from his outstanding career after the Sydney
Paralympic Games in 2000.
The successful swimmer became an even more
successful public speaker. With humour, warmth,
self-detachment and much joie-de-vivre, David Lega
gives talks about positive thinking, leadership and
the art of stretching ones own limits. In 2004 he was
named as the Speaker of the Year by the Swedish
Event Academy.
The sought-after speaker has now become an
acknowledged leader. In 2005, the International
Junior Chamber of Commerce selected David Lega to
receive an Outstanding Young Person of the World
award. This is an honorary distinction that has, in the
past, been awarded to Orson Welles, Nelson Rockefeller, Leonard Bernstein, John F. Kennedy, Wayne
Gretzky and Elvis Presley.
Petter Karlsson, born in 1960, Swedish author of several
bestselling books, published in both Swedish and English.
