Kairos

Caeros is a love story set in the last years of the GDR. The couple meet by chance on a bus: she is a young student, he is older and married. From the start their relationship is shrouded in the lies they have to tell others in order to meet, but when the girl is found to have betrayed her lover and his ideals it creates a dangerous crack in their love, opening up a space for cruelty and punishment and the exertion of power. And of course, their story reflects the times in which they are living - the culture of secrecy and compliance and the testing of loyalties to ideas and ideals, even while they system they had inspired is beginning to fall apart.
