[Pressmeddelande från Saga Egmont]
Tuesday this week, Spotify launched their new Audiobook platform in the Nordics. This means that more than 25.000 audiobooks published by Saga Egmont will now be available there – specifically titles in Danish, Swedish, Finnish, and Icelandic.
“We look forward to the titles being available to a new group of users. Our goal has always revolved around the accessibility of good books for everyone, which aligns with Spotify’s new initiative. We are especially excited about making our children’s literature and non-fiction literature available, as we anticipate that many users will be looking for these genres on Spotify”, says Lasse Korsemann Horne, Publishing Director at Saga Egmont.
Large and streaming-friendly catalogue
The catalogue from Saga Egmont will present Spotify-subscribers with popular genres such as romance, crime, and historical fiction. Listeners can dive into the stories from bestselling authors like Inger Gammelgaard Madsen, Anna Ihrén, Emma Ranta, Sara Storm, Steffen Jacobsen, Emma Olofsson, Ken Follett, and Glendy Vanderah.
Families and kids can look forward to browsing a large children’s book selection including audiobooks from Disney, Peppa Pig, Rasmus Klump, and Moomins from the kids imprint Saga Kids.
The large and streaming-friendly catalogue of Saga Egmont fits well into Spotify’s offer.
Great potential and reach
Spotify has several millions of existing paying subscribers across the Nordics. Meaning the potential of new people discovering audiobooks as a way to enjoy good stories grows substantially.
Earlier this year Spotify launched their audiobook platform in French, Dutch, and English-speaking markets. Also this launch meant a new distribution channel for a large number of Saga Egmont books – approximately 7.000 titles across the three languages.
